- “Excellent design and superlative support. They are always there to help.”
- – Rev Roy Axel Coats, Treasurer for the Wyneken Project
The Wyneken Project is revitalizing and planting churches in Baltimore city.
While they were busy changing lives within inner city Baltimore we were busy revitalizing wynekenproject.org.
Wyneken’s existing website was a simple wordpress.com site with limited functionality and a canned template design.
The Wyneken Project Board of Directors knew that in order to continue to increase their support for Baltimore churches they would need to communicate their success and effectiveness online.
That’s where we came in to help.
Branding Design
As the Wyneken Project continues to grow, a unique atmosphere for their website and other digital and physical communication will become increasingly helpful. Consistent visual atmosphere in communication makes nonprofits instantly recognizable to their volunteers, supporters, and donors.
Our creative design team developed consistent branding for the Wyneken Project including colors and typography that they can use on or off the web. We then took this branding design and used it as the guide for their new website’s look and feel.
Implementation of Event Sign Up Functionality
The Wyneken Project’s success rests in pairing churches with churches in order to jump start churches in need.
An important piece to this work is organizing volunteers to assist with events, outreach, and generosity at Baltimore churches.
So we implemented an event sign up feature on the new wynekenproject.org.
The Wyneken Project is now able to create events, manage volunteers, and send emails to individuals who have signed up. Their volunteers can view events and sign up right on their website.
Implementation of a Dedicated Online Giving Portal with Recurring Online Giving
Recent studies show that nonprofits that offer online giving increase overall donations by 32%.
The Wyneken Project was already offering a PayPal donation button but we all knew they could make online giving even easier. Their donation portal through PayPal was already an asset to their organization. Dedicated recurring giving would take them even further.
According to the Network for Good, the “average recurring donor gives 42% more per year than the average one-time donor.” To help the Wyneken Project leverage the benefits of recurring donations we implemented and thoroughly tested an integrated online giving portal on the new wynekenproject.org.
Transfer of Existing Content
We always want our clients’ transition to be as seamless as possible.
We handled all of the heavy lifting of moving Wyneken’s existing content to their new site and pointing their domain to their new servers.
One less headache for a busy nonprofit.
Hosting
The Wyneken Project is taking advantage of our Managed WordPress Hosting service.
They’re seeing quick load speeds with minimal downtime because we’re hosting their site on redundant flash storage using stable server technology.
We’re keeping them, their site, and their volunteers’ info secure through robust and modern security standards including an SSL certificate, spam monitoring, brute-force protection, hacking monitoring, and virus protection. This is the same security standards we provide our ecommerce clients.
To prevent data-loss in case of server malfunction or Internet infrastructure outage we’re even backing up their website’s data whenever a change is made and do so using modern security standards.
Say “hello” to peace of mind!
Tomorrow
The Wyneken Project isn’t done helping Baltimore city. In fact, they’re just getting started.
So are we.
This excellent nonprofit won our summer giveaway of a free WordPress Minatenance and Support retainer. So we’ll be with them every step of the way.
We’re also busy designing a new logo for Wyneken that’s going to turn heads so more people notice what’s happening in their great city.
